Our review
P6 remains the reference tool for serious project controls. Its power is structural: one database holding an entire portfolio with consistent WBS/activity coding, dozens of assignable baselines, and a scheduling engine whose behaviour under progress is precisely configurable. That rigour is exactly what claims work and client submissions demand. The price is usability — new planners need formal training (or a strong mentor) and organisations need an admin who owns the database. Buy it for scale and rigour; do not buy it hoping for a friendly UI.

Verdict
