How to Manage Project Risks
Managing risk means deciding what might go wrong before it does — and having a plan ready.
For the full concept, see Risk Register.
Steps
- Identify risks via workshops, checklists and lessons learned.
- Assess each risk’s probability and impact and score it.
- Assign an owner to every significant risk.
- Choose a response: avoid, mitigate, transfer or accept.
- Define trigger conditions and concrete response actions.
- Review the risk register regularly and update as risks change.
