Steps

1. Derive activities from your WBS and estimate durations.
2. Set dependencies so tasks line up correctly (finish-to-start is most common).
3. Assign start and end dates, respecting the project calendar.
4. Add milestones for key checkpoints and assign owners to bars.
5. Baseline the schedule to track slippage later.
6. Update percent-complete regularly so the chart stays truthful.
